Job Description
This job is both driving and working in the warehouse.
Warehouse Duties/Responsibilities
- Loading and offloading trucks for deliveries to the stores, baling
- Receives incoming store supplies and verifies that goods correspond to quantities invoiced
- Performs all required loading and carriage responsibilities and the related paperwork as directed by the department supervisor
- Safely carry, push, pull items that weigh 50 to 100 pounds a minimal distance of 40 feet
- Operate forklift
- Operate a baler
- Wear safety clothing/equipment at all times
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Physically capable of standing for long periods of time, bending, and pushing heavy loads
- Safely work in all weather conditions
- Work and handle material in all environments including dust, pet hair/dander, various scents, heat, & cold.
Driving Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for operation vehicle and equipment according to safety rules and procedures
- Responsible for regular transport of materials between stores within the Niagara Region
- Occasional home pick-ups
- Safely carry, push, pull items that weigh 50 to 100 pounds a minimal distance of 40 feet
- Maintain trucks and ensure they are operating according to safety standards
- Abide by all ministry rules including posted speed limits
- Wear appropriate safety clothing/equipment
- Safely operate a truck including lift tail gate
- Safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions
Qualifications
- Experience driving/operating cube vans, 20 Foot and 26 Foot box trucks
- Valid “G” class drivers license with valid insurance
- Valid forklift certification an asset
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions and the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
