Job Description

Wainfleet Township Public Library is seeking a permanent part-time STUDENT LIBRARY PAGE. The successful candidate will be a mature young adult who is responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks related to the maintenance, shelving and shelf-reading of library materials, and providing administrative and programming support as required.

Qualifications

  • Current high school student between 15 and 18 years of age

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work responsibly, consistently and accurately, with minimal supervision

  • Physical ability to push/pull loaded book trucks and carry materials; physical flexibility to retrieve and shelve materials (which requires bending, kneeling, lifting, etc. and being on one’s feet for the majority of each shift)

  • Previous experience in a school or public library an asset

  • Familiarity with the Dewey Decimal System an asset

Position: Permanent Part-Time

Hours: 24 hours bi-weekly

(Mondays and Thursdays 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
