Job Summary
The Program Facilitator reports to the Supervisor, Early ON and will provide a variety of learning activities for children from 0-6. These activities will happen both on camera and on site at different locations across the region. The Program Facilitator will prepare and deliver interactive learning programs for children, their parents/caregivers, and provide support and assistance to families with all aspects within an EarlyON setting.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Facilitate an early learning program focused on the physical, cognitive and social development of children between the ages of birth and six years
- Collaborate with staff, parents and children to plan and facilitate a variety of developmentally appropriate programs for families and responds to diverse cultural needs
- Listen and reflect with children, parents and peers to provide opportunities for supportive learning
- Able to organize virtual activities, and host these activities through our virtual programming using Zoom
- Awareness of the learning process and the ability to follow a child’s lead to expand learning opportunities
- Support families/caregivers by providing agency referrals and contact information in the community
- Support families in understanding the importance of interacting with their children during the program
- Attend to participants at all times during program hours
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of Port Cares and EarlyON Best Practices
- Maintain program, participant and staff confidentiality
- Maintain a professional relationship with parents and uphold a positive image of EarlyON
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment, conducive to child development in all areas of the program
- Cleaning, setting up and storing program toys, etc., and opening/closing and other administrative duties
- All other duties as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Diploma relating to Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education, Child and Youth Worker or related field
- Working knowledge of “How Does Learning Happen”
- Knowledge and skill in developing age appropriate quality early learning activities and programs for children between the ages of birth to six years
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- G Driver’s license with a clean record
- Safe Food Handling certification is an asset
- Own transportation as the ability to travel to any of our 7 locations is required (Port Colborne, Welland, Pelham, Fort Erie, Crystal Beach, Lincoln, West Lincoln)
- Clear current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
- Experience using Zoom, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
- Experience in facilitating programming or workshops in an early childhood setting is an asset
- Excellent organizational, computer, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- May be required to lift items no more then 20-25lbs, transport materials between locations or work at one of our mobile locations
- A positive and outgoing attitude with children, parents, caregivers, clients and staff
