St. Catharines Pattern is a small Tool and Die shop, working with mainly aluminum metals. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time General Labourer. In this role, you would be expected to work with a team, as well as on your own. Within this position, there is room to grow and become an apprentice in the General Machinist field.

 Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications or sample parts
  • Accurately verify dimensions of machined tool to specifications using precision measuring equipment
  • Perform special projects in support of the organization’s business objectives.
  • Must have your own measurement tools and hand tools. 
  • Report all issues to Manager
  • Ensure CNC machines are kept clean inside and out.
  • Top up fluids where needed.
  • Clean bathrooms.
  • Ensure materials are ordered and stored safely.
  • Use a bandsaw to cut materials for Journeymen.
  • Use woodworking equipment to create shipping boxes.
  • Pick up and deliver materials using company vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to provide and pass a police criminal record check prior to being employed.
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Time management and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard machining practices
  • Able to excel in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience with machining techniques using machinery including but not limited to manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, hand, and power tools, etc. is an asset.
  • Use of CAD/CAM software is considered an asset- We use Solidworks and SurfCam.
  • Must have your own measurement tools and hand tools.

  • 2 weeks vacation (Taken in July as a company shutdown)
