Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Niagara is looking to hire a Student Case Worker! The agency’s mission is ‘to empower children and youth to achieve their full potential through positively mentored relationships that exemplifies mutual respect, trust and care’.
As a Student Case Worker you will assist with volunteer recruitment and assessment, attend agency outings and events, assist with case management tasks including but not limited to; following up with our clients and volunteers, and be given opportunities for professional development.
As this position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, the successful candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial and territorial legislation and regulations
Successful candidate will be a recent graduate of or enrolled in a Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Care, or other related program and have a successful NRPS criminal record with vulnerable sector query certificate. Our agency service area includes: Welland, Pelham, Port Colborne, Wainfleet, Fort Erie and surrounding communities. The successful candidate must have a clean driving record, full drivers license and own vehicle or access to a vehicle with adequate insurance. This is a 9 week, full time (30 hours per week) contract position at $15 an hour with a start date of June 17, 2019.
